How to e-mail a rehabilitation handout to a client using the rehab lab

You can e-mail customised rehab handouts to your clients directly from The Rehab Lab. To e-mail a rehab handout to a client, follow these simple steps:

1. Log in to The Rehab Lab

Go to The Rehab Lab and enter your username and password. After clicking the 'LOGIN TO THE REHAB LAB' button The Rehab Lab's main screen will open. This is the EXERCISE SEARCH screen.

2. Search for exercises to add to your new programme

The Rehab Lab Exercise Search screen has helpful search options to enable you to find the exercises you require quickly and easily. These options can help refine your search results by body region (upper limb, lower limb, trunk, other), by joint or by exercise type (stretching & mobilising, strengthening & stabilising or neural and 'other').  You can also enter keywords to refine your search further.

Depending on the exercise you are searching for, from the drop-down menu, select the associated JOINT and/or EXERCISE TYPE, and click the SEARCH button (or simply press 'enter' on your keyboard).

Enter your search options
3. Select your exercise from the search results

All the exercises that match your search criteria will be displayed in the search results area.

To add your desired exercise to your new programme, click the Add Exercise To Programme button (the plus icon), or simply drag the exercise into the programme contents column on the right of the screen.

To preview an exercise, click the 'preview exercise' button (the magnifying glass icon), or simply double-click the exercise.

Once your exercise has been added to the programme contents column on the right of the screen you can now edit the exercise to your liking.

Once you are happy with your layout and heading choices, click the E-MAIL PROGRAMME TO CLIENT button. This will open the 'E-MAIL PROGRAMME' window.

The 'E-MAIL PROGRAMME' window allows you to enter the clients e-mail address (where the rehab handout is going to be sent), your e-mail address (by default the e-mail address from your profile is entered here), a subject line for your e-mail and a brief message to your client. Below the e-mail message you can enter the 'REHAB HANDOUT NAME'. This is the file-name of the PDF document that will be attached to the e-mail.

Fill in the e-mail form

Once you are happy with the content of your e-mail, click the 'SEND E-MAIL' button at the bottom-right of the window (see diagram above). Your message will now be sent by The Rehab Lab to your client.

NB: Please inform your patient to expect the e-mail. If your client cannot locate the e-mail in their inbox, please ask them to check their junk-mail inbox. As individual clients will have differing levels of e-mail filtering settings on their e-mail accounts, The Rehab Lab cannot guarentee your e-mail will not be sent to their junk-mail inbox. The e-mail make take several minutes to send.
